Conformation

Earthdog conformation classes will be held after the sanctioned JRT conformation classes. Open to colored terriers(dark-bodied terrier type less than 51% white), dachshunds and any earthdog breed other than a JRT.

Diaper Exhibition, Pups, 3 up to 4 months.

This is a ribbon only class, unsanctioned and will be judged immediately following Youth Conformation. 
Five dollar entry fee required.  Please register for this exhibition class at check-in.

Fun Conformation Ring Classes

Class 46: Tricks Non-sanctioned. Open to all breeds.
Judged on cuteness and fun factor. No entry fee.
Class 47: Costume Non-sanctioned. Open to all breeds.

Go-to-Ground


Earthdog Go-to-Ground (non-sanctioned)

A timed event that simulates the earthdog's natural instinct to hunt. The terrier enters an artificial den/tunnel to demonstrate its working ability. Schooling prior to the competition is not permitted. Any violation of this rule shall result in disqualification from the Go-To-Ground competition at this trial. For all classes: work is defined as baying, digging to, concentrated stare, whining or biting at the bars. May switch from one type of work to another. A break in work is defined as ceasing to work for a period of more than ten seconds. Leaving the quarry is defined as moving back in the tunnel away from quarry and out of the view of the judge. The judge may halt the work, if the judge believes the terrier is injuring itself.

Open to Earthdogs up to 15" tall.

Class 110: Earthdog Novice
Open to earthdogs, 6 months and older, who have not scored 100% in a novice Go-To-Ground at previous trials. Entries earning 100% at this trial may, upon payment of the entry fee, enter the Open class at this trial. One minute to reach quarry. May leave earth and re-enter several times until quarry is reached. When quarry is reached, must work quarry continuously for 30 seconds without a break in work and without leaving quarry. Non-sanctioned.
Class 111: Earthdog Open
Open to earthdogs, 6 months and older, who have scored 100% in a novice class at previous trials. 30 seconds to reach quarry. May leave earth once and re-enter before quarry is reached. Work quarry continuously for one full minute without a break in work and without leaving quarry. Non-sanctioned.
Class 112: Earthdog Go-to-Ground Champion & Reserve
1st and 2nd place winners of Earthdog Open class. Non-sanctioned. No entry fee.

Super Earth

Earthdog Super Earth Non-sanctioned

A challenging GTG course with a series of false entrances and/or false tunnels and dens. Open to any Jack Russell terrier, 6 months and older. 30 seconds per 30 feet of tunnel to reach quarry; may leave and re-enter earth; work quarry for one full minute without a break in work and without leaving quarry. May switch from one type of work to another without penalty. Height is limited to earthdogs 15" and under. Non-sanctioned. Barn Hunt

This timed event challenges the abilities of the canine and handler team to locate live rats enclosed in one or more tubes on a straw-bale course. For Rookie Barn Hunt, competitors will have two minutes to find one live rat tube on a course that will have three live rat tubes, two rat liter tubes, and one clean (empty) tube. For Hot Shot Barn Hunt, competitors will have three minutes to find all three live rat tubes on a course that will have three live rat tubes, two rat liter tubes, and one clean (empty) tube. Non-sanctioned.

T-N-T (Thunder Tunnel)

A fun and interactive tunnel with one side open for viewing your terrier. Each entry includes two tries, run back to back. Tunnels will have with dips and turns along the way for your terrier to maneuver around and over. The fastest time of the weekend for all T-N-T classes is eligible for a special chair prize sponsored by T-N-T Tunnel. Non-sanctioned.

Brush Hunt

Brush hunt is an above-ground hunting simulation held in a fenced area. One camouflaged tube containing a live rat is hidden within the brush area. Te challenge is for the terrier to use natural instincts to successfully locate and work the quarry. Terrier must work to find the quarry in the shortest amount of time. The clock starts when the judge is ready and signals you to release your dog at the gate. All four paws must be on the ground before you release your dog. The judge stops the clock when your dog has found the tube. You do not enter with the dog but you can encourage your dog verbally. No hand signals allowed. The dog must locate the tube to have a qualifying time. No cross-entering between classes. Maximum time allowed is two minutes. Non-sanctioned
