Non-Sanctioned Classes

Miscellaneous classes are offered for dogs that exceed 15" in height at the withers or are under 10" in height. The Miscellaneous classes are not open to Jack Russell Terriers registered or recorded with the JRTCA. Owners do not need to be members of the JRTCA to compete in these classes. All Miscellaneous classes are non-sanctioned.

Fun Conformation Ring Classes

Non Sanctioned (No Entry Fee)

All dogs must be exhibited on lead.

Class 58: Tricks - Open to all breeds. Judged on cuteness and fun factor.
Class 59:  Costume - Open to all breeds. Dogs and/or owners are judged on cuteness and originality.

Stable Hunt

Non Sanctioned

This timed event challenges the abilities of the dog and handler team to locate live rats enclosed in one or more tubes on a straw-bale course.
Class 169:  Miscellaneous Rookie Stable Hunt - All breeds, six months and older.
Competitors have two minutes to find one live rat on a course that will have three live rat tubes, two rat litter tubes, and one clean (empty) tube.
Class 173:  Miscellaneous Hotshot Stable Hunt - All breeds, six months and older.
Competitors will three minutes to find all live rats on a course that will have three live rat tubes, two rat litter tubes, and one clean (empty) tube.

Brush Hunt

Non Sanctioned

Brush hunt is an above-ground hunting simulation held in a fenced area. One camouflaged rat tube is hidden within the brush area. The challenge is for the dog to use natural instincts to successfully locate and work the quarry. Dog must work to find the quarry in the shortest amount of time. The clock starts when the judge is ready and signals you to release your dog at the gate. All four paws must be on the ground before you release your dog. The judge stops the clock when your dog has found the tube. You do not enter with the dog but you can encourage your dog verbally. No hand signals allowed. The dog must locate the tube to have a qualifying time. Maximum time allowed is two minutes.
Class 182:  Miscellaneous Brush Hunt, 6 months and older.

Lure Coursing

Non Sanctioned

This is a timed event in which the dog chases a lure in an enclosed fenced course. Each class entry will include 2 runs. All runs must be run back to back. Enter as many times as you like, however only your best of two runs will be considered for ribbon placement. All other runs considered fun runs.
Class 194:  Shorty Lure Coursing - Adult Dogs under 10"
